Surface-cleaning visible mold without addressing the moisture source and containing spore spread is why mold "comes back." We remediate the full problem: containment, removal, air scrubbing, and moisture correction — in that order, every time.
Our Remediation Process
- Containment — the affected area is sealed off with negative air pressure so spores don't spread to unaffected rooms during work
- Removal — contaminated drywall, insulation, and porous materials that can't be fully cleaned are removed and bagged; non-porous surfaces are treated and cleaned
- Air scrubbing — HEPA air scrubbers run throughout the job and after, clearing airborne spores from the space
- Moisture correction — we identify and address the leak, humidity, or ventilation issue that let mold grow in the first place; remediation without this step is temporary

Because surface cleaning doesn't remove spores from the air or fix the moisture source feeding it. Real remediation contains the area, removes contaminated material, scrubs the air, and corrects the leak or humidity issue — skip any of those steps and it returns.
Is a musty smell without visible mold still worth investigating?
Yes. Musty odor with no visible growth often means mold is growing inside a wall cavity, under flooring, or in an HVAC system. We can inspect and, if needed, open up the affected area to confirm and remediate.
